Laurie as with his three litter mates who are currently being shown, has been a consistent winner and rarely if ever out of the placings.

27/4/03 The first show at which Laurie has been eligible to compete for a Challenge Certificate. Judged by collie specialist Ms Leigh Shanahan (NSW) he took Reserve Challenge to Grd Ch Barcoo Chief Among Braves.

Ms Shanahan said of Laurie .... "Was absolutely delighted with my Reserve Challenge Dog - lovely expression, correct shape, length of leg, substance. He looks like a minor collie should, definitely not a "fluffy stuffy". Although, he needs to let down in hindquarters - this should come with maturity - common in Collies at this age."

One of the collies who Laurie beat that day for Res CC was Sue Smith's lovely dog, winner of the Australian Bred Dog Class, Arranbrae Call Me Shannon CDX who then went right through to take Australian Bred in Show.

Although undoubtedly a beautiful collie, we decided that Laurie did not reach the criteria to be retained for breeding at LochWind so he has been retired from the show ring, sterilised and now has a wonderful new home with Sam & Marc Ruedegger in Brisbane.
