"Ch Vedamea Art of Gold"
Peaches commenced her show career on 22nd of February 2003 placing second in the Baby Puppy Class to our very lovely blue bitch LochWind Better B Witched (Lacey).
On the 2nd March at the prestigeous Western Classic Show, Peaches turned the tables on Lacey, from seven entries Peaches was awarded Best Baby Collie by well known International All Breeds Judge Mrs Virginia Lyne (Canada).
Going from strength to strength at her third show on 21st March Peaches took her class from her "stablemates" LochWind Better B Witched and LochWind Better B Dazzled. Then ousted the Baby Dog, Vedamea Knight Ov Fantasy, for Best Baby Collie, thus putting her in contention for Best Baby In Group, which she duly carried off in fine style!
In April 2003 Peaches sister Vedamea Change Ov Art

who is on the campaign trail is NSW also took Best Baby In Group.
May 11th and tomorrow Peaches will be out of Baby Class - finishing Baby under collie specialist Mrs Sue Henley she won her third best Baby In Group from only five shows.
On the 17/18th May, Peaches brother, Vedamea State Ov The Art and sister, Vedamea Change Ov Art took out Puppy Dog & Puppy Bitch Classes in Adelaide at the Collie Nationals, judged by Val Geddes (UK). Congratulations Quinn on siring three outstanding pups in your first litter !
Returning from his trip to the Nationals his following show on the 22nd June 2003 in Sydney Vedamea State Ov The Art was Reserve Challenge Dog to his much awarded kennel mate Ch Vedamea The Diamond Beau and then took RUBOB over newly crowned Grand Champion Lamerton Midnight Shadow. A great effort for a seven month old puppy against mature and seasoned competition !
Peaches at eight weeks of age & Lachlan at twelve weeks.

On New years Day 2003 I flew to Sydney NSW to select a pup from two litters sired by our Lochwynde Legendary (USA) to return home to LochWind.
Since his visit to Sydney, Quinn has already gained his first (from only two shows to date) Australian points and went RUBOB on 15/12/2002 under Mr K Peirce of Victoria.

On arrival in Londonderry, I was confronted with 19 puppies from three litters, born within two days of each other......all in together !
Wow what a task it was to make a choice.
Very, very similar types of puppies and in many cases marked very alike also.
One of the virtues that Tartanside is noted for is an excellent sable colouration which can be noted in the burnt toffee colouring of the sire. The pup I selected appeared at seven weeks to be bright orange.
Leaving behind some very promising pups, the decision came down to just a few hopefuls, I selected the bitch puppy pictured, as she most fitted our requirements here at LochWind.
I was more than a little concerned about flying such a young pup, who had never been away from her mother and siblings..... even more unnerving she was to fly alone.
A good two hours drive at each end of the flight, made it one hell of a trip for her. But Peaches certainly is her father's daughter and handled it all in her stride.
Peaches displays many querky characteristics inherited from her father so I will be most interested to see how many of the other littermates also have the same idiosyncrasies.
Peaches mother is the beautiful bitch "Ch Vedamea How Sweet Thou Art" belonging to Barry and Leah Ryan and she is by their top dog Ch "Vedamea The Diamond Beau" out of the inbred bitch "Claretash Centrefold".
