The majority of people looking to buy a collie, whether pup or adult will not be looking for the top show prospect. But what they are searching for and are entitled to expect, is that they acquire a healthy well adjusted new member of their "family".
With excellent backup from the breeder, if and when they find they need it.
At LochWind we breed on a very limited basis,4 litters from 2000 to 2005!
WHY?
Quite simply because finding the "right" home for our collies is of paramount importance to us.
More importantly we only breed from outstanding imported & Champion collies that are healthy and sound. Therefore we do not need to breed MULTIPLE litters EACH & EVERY year, just to find a collie good enough to be competitive in the show ring.
Collies are not suited to everyone's lifestyle, so ideal homes are not readily found here in Western Australia.
LochWind puppies do not go just anywhere .......
We will want to find out about any new prospective owner for one of our puppies, so be prepared to answer some questions too!
As the owners of a Veterinary Clinic, we are well aware that there can be many pitfalls for the inexperienced in buying ANY breed of puppy and a judicious potential new owner would be well advised to take the time to do their homework thoroughly prior to committing themselves to the purchase of any breed of puppy.
The consequences of failing to do this could mean a great deal of expense at your local veterinary surgeon. Currently the cost of veterinary care is high and a dog with an ongoing problem, can be a large financial drain on any family.
