Firstly I would like to thank John and David for allowing me to bring a bitch so finely bred to Australia.
Pictured left is Shay's Dam...
Shay's Sire...
For an introduction I have placed here the story of how John named Shay...
I have always been an avid Afghan fan. Some of the best in this country were from the Grandeur kennels. Growing up in New York, I didn't live far from the kennel, and the mastermind behind it all, Sunny Shay, was sort of legendary. Sunny had a heart attack in the ring at a dog show back in the 70's, but had a wonderful co-owner, who continued producing fabulous dogs thru to 2000, one of the greatest winning bitches being TRYST of Granduer. So..we registered her as "Tryst" but call her "Shay" in memory of Sunny Shay.
Re: Shay - her head piece is truly her greatest asset. While a moderately sized bitch, without being extreme in any way, her head is smooth and clean, and particuarlly well finished in foreface - round smooth, and tapered. Her lipline is straight and dry and her underjaw is excellent. Stop is well braced, and skull well filled. Ears are tightly set. Her eye and expression to me at least, are quite beautiful, and it is here that she reminds me so much of her dam, Riviera.
